Precure news

So, if I ever talked about M1ssEas around here, I will be talking about her again.

M1ssEasChan2009, or Aiko as I will call her, is blocked from the Fandom of Pretty Cure Wiki for one year. It was mostly for edit warring between her and the new administrator, Akari. Aiko edited multiple pages without permission, but the main one is on Aria Flower Pretty Cure.

I'm not exactly sure if I agree with the block if Aria Flower was the final straw. Akari was the original owner of Aria Flower, then Aiko adopted it, and then Akari decided she changed her mind and returned to the series for herself. Aiko was credited for adopting the series for a short time, but Aiko wanted her name removed. This started an edit war, probably 2-3 edits from each side, and then Goten blocked Aiko. While it was, in fact, an edit war, and Aiko could've said "hey, could you remove my name?" instead of editing the page 3 times, I feel like Aiko should have a right of removing her own pen name from a page. A day after Aiko's block, Akari decided to remove it herself! However, at that time, Aiko would also put "this character's name was X but it was given to Y for reasons" without permission, so Aria Flower is not the only reason for her block, and it's only as extreme as it is because of the rules.

Aiko is blocked for a year because the rules for account blocking is 1 week, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, and finally, 1 year. 5 chances.

Aiko was like, "You know what, I quit! All the series I have are up for adoption." Putting up 100-200 Precure fanseries for adoption once you get your final block is... not cool, and definitely not learning a lesson, especially so soon. The Pretty Cure wiki didn't have a rule for this... until now.

The rules already stated when it comes to adopted series are:

  • If a series is up for adoption, it must be mentioned on the page itself or the comments (or the discussion board, which is unmentioned).
  • If nothing is mentioned there, you must ask someone permission to adopt the work, either on their message wall or on the discussion board. (The loophole that I don't have to ask permission if the page or comments says the series is up for adoption is the reason I own Rainbow Star Goddess even though its owner hasn't logged on in five years).
  • If the original content creator's account is permanently blocked or disabled, their works are not eligible for adoption.

The third rule is slightly edited so now if someone is temporarily blocked or disabled, like Aiko, their works are not for adoption until the block goes away. Two other rules are added:

  • Blocked users' series cannot be for adoption except in the case that a blocked user adopted their own series. In that case, the series is open for adoption, BUT you must ask either the original creator or a previous owner of the series permission to adopt the work.
  • The original creator is allowed to re-adopt their work, as they are the original creator. (I believe this is what happened to Aria Flower Pretty Cure) But if problems occur, please contact an admin.

Okay, listing my adopted series here, and how likely I think they are into going back to the original creator. I'm cocky so most of them are going to be unlikely:

  • Pretty Cure RPM, Go On and its sequel, and La LOVEtta - Extremely unlikely. Ahim de Famille, the original owner, has quit years ago, and disabled her account last year. I haven't made much story changes to RPM, but I did make pages for the remaining four legendary Cures for RPM. I gave whole new civilian names and personalities to the Go On Cures. And I renamed the Cures for La LOVEtta and made a page for one Cure.
  • Tenjo Megami Pretty Cure - Unlikely. While she comes back from time to time and has not announced a formal leave, its creator is not active on the wiki. I renamed all of their civilian forms, except for keeping Hana and Hikaru's civilian names. Cure Aphrodite and Cure Apollo are still the first and second Cures of the group, and their mascot is still named Aurora.
  • Candy Time Pretty Cure - I... don't think so? The creator is Vegas Aisaki, whom, unlike other FoHS associates some people think are sockpuppet accounts of who-knows-what, Vegas still has her account. But I don't think she wants to risk a permaban like Bloo just did for changing "Mikazuki Aiko" on some collab pages to "REDACTED". One of the names, Akio Aiko, was made by the same person who made Asterism Star. The series was originally a BFDI-inspired Tropical-Rouge ripoff, but I wasn't keeping up with BFB at the time so much has changed. Yue Murasakiiro keeps her civilian name, Cure name, and color, but the other four, they've been completely distanced from BFDI, but still keep their Tropical-Rouge inspirations. Those four change their civilian and Cure names. Dorayaki City I think was made by Vegas but maybe not. I plan on changing that name too.
  • My Friends Pretty Cure and Eien no Tsubasa Pretty Cure - The creator is Akari Minashima, who I'm friends with. Very unlikely unless I turn out to be a horrible person. With My Friends in particular, I was (I think) the first of a few people she was going out to to ask, "hey, do you want to adopt this"? And she's interested to see the series continue. The lead Cure, Cure Symphony, as well as Cure Beat, was neither of ours. It belonged to that fake leaker from 2011 with the fake Suite Precure designs. Very unlikely they will come knocking at our door saying "remove Koto and Uta from your series", when in 2011, they loved to see the theories and headcanons that Cure Beat and Symphony were Waon and Seika from the actual Suite series. Yuzu and Sumika are original characters, as the caveat while adopting the series is that the two leads, Yumika (now Masaki) and Kizuna, were to be removed and placed into Akari's OC squad. I turned the Futari wa representative, Nezuko, into a new character and renamed her to Kuni. As for EnT, I renamed Bihaku to Hakua and added a new character named Kazuya.
  • SuperClown Pretty Cure - I don't think so. Both creators have been inactive for years.
  • Reverie Rainbow, Pastel Jubilee, Local Dreamer, Heavenly Jewel - Unlikely. At the time, the creator, Charisma Mitsuumi, wanted all of her series to be adopted. Even with the ones currently not open for adoption, they're scrapped. Note that Heavenly Jewel was previously adopted by a now permabanned user, and the character Kou Suishuu is my own creation.
  • Pretty Cure WORLDWIDE and Rebirth - Unlikely, as the series were up for adoption because its creator was leaving. He even made art for Brianna and Ember, with the latter being based on my design!
  • Smile Star, Star Age, and Synergy - Not adopted but they're all based on things not made by me. Smile Star and Star Age were based on fake leaks, with the latter being based on Gundam AGE, while Synergy was based on an advertisement campaign by the government of Kagoshima. I don't think any of the three parties will be knocking at my door telling me to cease activity, unless I do something particularly vile regarding Synergy. Speaking of local commercials, I found another PSA parodying Pretty Cure (and Madoka - considering it was about signing bad contracts). Maybe that Cure can be a sixth ranger? - I didn't create the series names or the Cure names "Cure Sirius" and "Cure Spica", but I created the rest, including Cure Aquila from Pretty Cure All Stars DX Gen2.
  • Rainbow Star Goddess - Unlikely. The creator is inactive.
  • Rebel Onis Go! Pretty Cure - There was a time where the creator, Ann, said we were "former friends" or "former acquaintances", one or the other, but I know what happened. We just didn't talk anymore. She apologized and I forgave her. She is still on the wiki and I don't think she misses Rebel Onis at all. She'd probably readopt it if I turn out to be horrible.
  • Surprise Star - Surprise Star had three owners before me: Lucy, who isn't active all the time but she still edits, Antelope, who wants to return to the wiki by adopting one of Tomoe's series so I don't think they'll retouch this series, and Amane, one of Aiko's pen names. So Lucy would be the most convenient person to re-adopt the series. I don't think so, though.
  • Gems Pretty Cure - Created by Aya Marino, who is no longer on the wiki. Later adopted by Vegas, so I have the same reasons it's unlikely for her to take this series as I do for Candy Time.
  • Nyan Raid and Asterism Star - Nyan Raid was created by Binky/Lumi, Asterism Star was made by Miu (one of Aiko's pen names), but adopted by Binky and Becca/Usami as Akuma and Tenshi and completely revamped from the ground up. Neither user is "every day" active but they are still active. They probably just have a lot of other stories on their plate and that's why I got to adopt these two series. Like everyone else here, I don't think Binky would slip under me and re-own the series, but the latter was originally the threequel of a saga and now it's the sequel of Gems. I REALLY need to get onto Nyan Raid, though.

The main premise of Galaxy Countdown was adopted from StarQueen22, I believe, and it was up for adoption for 5 years. If she wanted it, she would've removed it before I asked her. /j She is also not that active on Fandom of Pretty Cure Wiki.

Good and bad news

Adopted two new Pretty Cure series: Nyan Raid Pretty Cure and Asterism Star Pretty Cure!

  • Nyan Raid Pretty Cure is about abandoned robots in a cat cafe and their cats while their entire society becomes destructive. I think I'm going to size the cast down. Maybe just to Haruki, Momo, Yuki, and Fuku, the four characters with images? No, not four, or else I'll think of it like Pastel Café.
  • Asterism Star Pretty Cure is about a catastrophic event that sends all inhabitants of an alien planet to Earth.

The bad news is for some reason there was a millisecond of a blackout/power surge. It was a sunny day. And it was so short that several of the technology did not restart (ex. my speakers, the oven, and microwave) I have a power surge protector on all my tech, but when I started up the PC, it was asking me for a Bitlocker code, and told me the computer couldn't load my stuff correctly because "SrtTrail.txt" wasn't working or something. I think SrtTrail is a file specifically for startup, maybe for logging the startup itself? It said I could either shut down the computer or somehow continue.

I click continue. I got some "Windows is updating" repairs, I hope that fixes the problem, whatever it is, because I can now log on, but I don't think it will. I heard some people that skip the Bitlocker process (which I did) get the Bitlocker message every time the system starts up, which suggests a bigger issue in the computer, even with the repairs the Advanced Repairs couldn't do but the Restart could somehow.

I am typing this on my computer. Thank God, The Lord Almighty, because a LOT of those files aren't backed up.

Probably just some corrupted non-personal Windows files, wait, not "just", corrupted Windows files is a huge deal!

Note to self to try this before shutting down/restarting PC for the day/night.

Getting stuff at the store

  • Got an LED heart mirror that I thought the reflective part was scratched. It looked like a protective film, and it felt like one, and it quacked like one, I was just too afraid to peel it off.
  • I also got a Hot Topic-exclusive Mitsuri Kanroji Funko POP that my sibling is annoyed that I got, since I never seen Demon Slayer and I don't know the context. I think she's just really defeated or drained from combat. It will fit nicely with my Ghostbusters Funko POPs, including my duplicate Egon Spengler that I painted the box of and my Abby Yates Funko POP that's currently in the shed.
Also, why does she get a unique eye color and "shape" when the other Funko POPs, but Sailor Moon, for example, just gets the black button eyes?
  • Complimented a cashier's Miku pin.

If I had 10,000 dollars...

I would probably conduct a SynthV chorus where I made all the women sing whatever I want. And I would also buy music production material and learn music theory.

What happened to Make a Wish?

If you noticed... Make a Wish Pretty Cure is gone! Why?

It's a racist series, short and simple! My sources for that series is "just be a regular human being and do extensive research and not do what Aladdin did" and I took that... and made a series with a genie that's lazy and sings about the bazaar of miracles and a fox named Sahara.

Also, I just realized the name is much too similar to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

I think I may need to write an apology about that series on the discussion board.

But you may notice that the series is replaced. What is Mushi Deka Pretty Cure!? Well, that's Maboroshi Detective Pretty Cure's new name! I hope you're excited for it!

I didn't do much changes to Maboroshi Detective since I made it. Besides the title change...

  • I changed Ichika's Cure name from Cure Honey to Cure Abeille (bee in French) so she isn't confused with Cure Honey. However, in the Euphonia Timeline, Cure Honey has been renamed to Cure Tender, so... should I change it back? My ignorance made the Cure Abeille name public...
  •  I changed Soyogi's surname from Sakurai to Kocho because Sakurai was later taken by Sayaka Sakurai from Pretty Cure WORLDWIDE!, which I'm not sure if I introduced it to the blog yet. The surname "Kocho" is more closely related to Soyogi's motif, the butterfly.
    • Note, however, because of Soyogi Soyogi (as well as Soyoka Soyokaze and Soyo Ibara from other Haruka Hibino series), I may have to change Soyogi's first name too.'
  • Mirage Akashi's real name is Tsutsuji Akashi. Why hide her first name but not the more incriminating last name? I don't know. I'll have to figure that out.
  •  I changed the names of the Gokiburuze to Gokibururu. I don't know, I just that sounded better to me. It's a pun on "gokiburi" for cockroach, and "brrrrrr". I was on Google translate and typed that in and I thought it sounded cooler.

I may do some more political correctness for the Euphonia Timeline. I know people say "don't let the haters get to you" but... haters? Who's hating on Aurima being Eimi's "brown best friend" more than myself?

Oh, I changed Takara Tsukuda's name to Eimi Manaka. I don't know if I told you. I want to update Coralie and Jade Yukimura's pages, too, but not for name changes.

  • I don't know if I will actually change her name but I will admit it, Kokoro Akamine's name is as such because I wanted her to have a Japanese name like the other three. While Iori and Rei's counterparts, Egon and Ray, are Jewish, they are also white so I can just make Iori and Rei Japanese and Jewish (which I have done for Reine but that's another regret, not pointing out Iori, Rei, Kimi, and Itaru are Jewish), Kokoro's counterpart,Winston, is 100% Black so it's not my place to make her 25% Japanese.
  • But what WILL change about Chojo Gensho is episode 2 (or 3?). It has Rei being accepted into the Heavenly Kingdom by two rhino guards because she is blonde, but Konatsu and Iori are denied because they were brunette, which was supposed to lead to an episode where Kokoro is unaccepted because she is Black. Yeah, no. Fuck that. Not only is Rei a redhead and Iori is blonde now, but in what way is this storyline... okay?
  • And what I also hope to change about Chojo Gensho is Meili Lei's ethnicity. She is based on a Hispanic character, Melanie Ortiz. And just because Meili's name is Meili Lei doesn't mean she can't be Hispanic. The reason why I made Meili Chinese is because the way the Ghostbusters found Melanie in canon was on a trip across America, so I wanted Meili to be close to where the Chojo Gensho girls lived, but not too close, so I chose China. The thing is... Japan is an island. I don't think you can go from Japan to China by foot in any capacity. Also the Chojo Gensho girls don't meet Meili via a road trip! Konatsu first meets Meili while the latter is on duty as a police officer... in Japan. And while I brought up that just because Meili is Chinese and born in China doesn't mean she's not Hispanic, I made Meili when I was 14-15 and didn't know Hispanic wasn't a race 🤦. So yeah. That was to be changed.

Other things that could be considered problematic:

  • Ophiuchus being inspired by George Kurai and thus they both share weird relationships with their respective protagonists. I think I toned it down for Ophiuchus years ago but I need to reread the page... I'm just scared.
  • Heavy metal being antagonized in Pretty Cure La La La! despite it being a very positive genre... when you're not looking at it in a vacuum. Princess Carnage, and by proxy Kotone, are inspired by Barb, and thus they get redeemed, but I need to make it obvious neither are pure evil.
  • The whole concept of La La La. It's like a Let's Go Luna style show where the girls go all over the world to meet others. But I feel like that reinforces overtourism.
  • Kumiko Konoe, especially her relationship towards Hoshi Nijihara, is probably ageist and sexist.
  • Again, I feel like Aurima is just the Indian best friend of Eimi. I gave her a fatal flaw... defending others problematic actions. What, does her life not matter?
  • Miwa Aizawa's faceclaim is Yuzu Aihara from Citrus. Why does that anime have such a pretty art style?
  • I was gonna make Kureha Mizuki Romani at some point. But after seeing feedback from Romani people, I figured it's a really bad idea, as the Romani culture is a closed culture.
  • The Lunar Pretty Cure being Japanese is a bit more forgivable but the Dragon's Book cast? I got away with it at first because Kung Fu Panda was loose inspiration, but now, it's a closer adaptation and the kung fu master's name is Tatsu? How come all nine characters, including Syun's brother, are Japanese in a story  is not shy to take place in China? I don't care that Jack Black is not Chinese.
  • Most of the twins in the Euphonia Timeline are not good representations of twins. The most obvious case is Cat and Kat from Nightmare Fantasy, who I may or may not remove, seeing neither of them have pages. Renata and Tosca, with their whole personalities being "yin and yang", fall into this, too. I feel like I avoided this with the fraternal twins Junko and Sayuri, though. And I hope I can avoid it with Hitomi and Futaba with Fruity Girls.
  • Some may claim the Amitié cures are whitewashed. I say, technically not when they're voiced by four white women and one of them is sometimes voiced by who I'm guessing is a half-Asian half-white woman when she sings (Kazumi Evans - it seems clear cut but it's better to be safe than sorry). Except there is some concept art of Twilight Sparkle as a human with dark skin. Idk she'd probably still be voiced by Tara Strong 😐. But also they technically are whitewashed because I imagined Aira to be brown, especially when her name was still Sumiko, but the Picrew I used only had pale skin so I took advantage of the fact nobody saw Sumiko's appearance before and made Aira pale.
  • Pollulu being unconsciously named after "delulu", short for "delusional", which is considered to be a slur.
  • The ethics of the Merm4id girls being aged down but Michiru remaining the same age.
  • The New Dreams Pretty Cure acronym being "NDPC", like "neuro-divergent pretty cure", and the lead Cure being interested in trains.
  • Natsumi Isaki can be considered an antisemitic character, or at least her fantasy creature can be. The alternatives are not much better, she'd have to be an elf to fix that problem.
  • How are Miwa Aizawa and Keiko Hibiki supposed to work in a kid's show?
  • Removing Hinata and Tsumugi's blood relation to each other as Zeus and Hera.
  • The villains from Carnival Kind are based on characters pretty much transphobic and homophobic but the movie's such a cult classic it warped itself around to being "woooooosh". I ended up calling the Rocky Horror characters "transexual transvestites" (I'm genderfluid but uhhh) like Frankenfurter did to himself (and himself only iirc).
  • Charcoal Jones will either be fine or not fine. Same with Jaya.
  • Brownie from Reverie Rainbow. Brownie is named after a fairy but you know that it's gross to call any brown person that.

TIL... oh my god...

Today I learned I was spelling Seulgi's name wrong the whole time... I've been spelling it Selugi and thus I was pronouncing it wrong too.

😱😱😱😱

This is embarassing. Seulgi is my favorite idol in my favorite girl group and I've just been... spelling her name wrong (in my mind) for years.

Bad PC news

I started up my PC today and opened up a bunch of things at once. I opened on Firefox, which has a tab restored to show a video. It had a lot of extensions, namely one that is not on the Firefox store. I also opened up Spotify, which was modded with Spicetify to look cool (which sometimes can be glitchy). If relevant, Windhawk and Sticky Notes were two startup apps but considering I opened them up dozens of times, what happened as described in the following paragraph is likely not their fault.

So I started up the PC specifically because I wanted to go on the AI Dungeon website to read all my AI stories one last time before I deleted them one by one and I deleted one story on the iPad before realizing it'd be easier to do on PC like with Character.ai. However, the video that was playing on the screen stopped loading and went to a green screen. Shit. Then random artifacts showed up, not just on the video screen but outside of it. It was scary. My computer started lagging and the PC made the sound it makes when it overheats. So I closed Firefox, and maybe a few other things, but closing Firefox stopped it.

I knew I had to do something fast. I checked if I had a system restore point. I did not. So I provided 1% of my storage to system restore points but I'll have to check if that's even enough because that's 18 GB. I also installed MalwareBytes and did a system scan (which accidentally got cancelled).

I then opened Google Chrome on guest mode. Nothing bad happened. So, since I didn't install pretty much anything on either Windows or Firefox besides the GAOMON app I have to keep uninstalling and reinstalling for every restart, I assumed the problem was that I opened the AI Dungeon website, a site I haven't visited on PC in years. So, because my settings have Firefox's tabs open as usual every time I open it up, I thought I had to find a way to open Firefox without those tabs starting. It was hard to understand.

I opened up Firefox again. Bad mistake. The same stuff happened, and the screen flashed to black sometimes, and I heard beeping noises. Shit. Luckily, spamming the close button on Firefox actually worked and Firefox closed. I scanned with MalwareBytes again and it found 101 PUPs (potentially unwanted programs)... all in the Chrome local data folder(s). Huh. I deleted those, scanned again, and it found nothing else.

I opened up Firefox a third time, and luckily, nothing weird happened before I closed the AI Dungeon tab for good. Didn't even have to restart, which, now that I think about it, maybe I should.

After that, I uninstalled the aforementioned app not in the Firefox store in fear the app has been hacked, disabled all but three extensions on Firefox, and added AI Dungeon to a list of blocked websites on the PC. The three extensions are Website Blocker, uBlock Origin, and OneTab.

I'll have to restart the PC, or at least shut it down when I go to sleep. But idk if this error is gonna pop up again, considering it happened so early in startup. Perhaps the PC was overwhelmed? Or maybe it overheated too much? (I've been hearing the overheating sound in places where it shouldn't be making that sound). Might have to back up some stuff.

Best case scenario, that was a fluke and I should be fine for the foreseeable future.

Medium case scenario, the PC needs a cleanup. I know it needs it. But I don't know how and I don't trust myself or anyone I know to do it (the tech people in my family live out of state) and my house is definitely not ready to have a PC being cleaned by someone. My safest bet is Geek Squad.

Worst case scenario, even with a cleanup, the PC is doomed.
