Dear Future Me

An hour or two ago, a Chinese spy balloon that was floating across the US continent was shot down. As much as I feel I should care about it, apparently it was floating 60,000 feet above the ground. It makes it seem more like a drone than anything. Seems rather normal that "oh China has a camera" and "oh the US hates cameras". Should I care? Is this the first time this has happened? Is this half-concern part of a bigger problem, especially regarding racism?

EDIT (02/05/23): Do you hear yourself? It's because it's a Chinese spy balloon. Although China says it's a weather balloon, which could be accurate since it was floating over Montana out of all places.
