How it feels to be a Dandadan fan and a social media lurker 😔

AyoTaledo made a post saying "Sorry Dandadan fans that your fandom is being called Klanklaklan" that's how bad it is because, I think you can guess already, the controversy is about a race change edit of Momo and Okarun where they're Black.

I don't know the deeper details because I don't want to see all the racism but I do know the editor, a minor, at minimum privated their account (it's back now as of this afternoon), and that Okarun's English VA, AJ Beckles, who is Black, supported the edit, made it his profile picture, but got harassed so much his X account was deleted.

This is like week-old news, however, this was the day I found out that a VTuber agency tried to hire A NINE YEAR OLD to their company. Disgusting.

A vent about something that isn't Froot even though she's the main focus

Fuck the Midnight Cats!

Why do people always have to be cancelled?

Sakuya Posey is in a cheating scandal, you're either Team Sakuya or Team Motoi and I can't get into the start of it because I know nothing about romance. And I know it's not a excuse! It's not a fucking excuse, nor a viable reason! It's not "pick a side and personally comfort the person you choose and white knight for them", it's "hey, you need to be aware of this cheating scandal and you NEED to form an opinion on it and come to your own conclusion. you don't need to do it right now, but you need to do it eventually." All I will say is I have no opinion because I haven't read the story, but prior to this, I was less of a Motoi Hirai fan than a Sakuya Posey fan.

Sakuya can probably get away with it but Hibari Hanami is probably mega-cancelled. Forever. No coming back. I also gotta get into the details of it but I'm scared because Hibari's my favorite of any member of a J-Pop girl duo, let alone of Midnight Cats.

Small PSA to myself

Under any circumstance, never do this. While people who do this are under a lot of stress, it is insensitive to change your aesthetic branding to something sad because of something bad you did. If you're doing this because you got caught, people will laugh at you for being a clown. If you're doing it for something you didn't get caught for or if you're doing it as a joke, people will worry if you're okay or not.

If you're only blacking out the icon and banner (and maybe description), it's technically not as bad as the example above, but still bad, and an icon with a serif-font saying "I'm sorry" is unacceptable.

Troubling situation (I won't explain it but it refers to multiple situations)

Please don't turn SA into drama.

Do not.

This is why you shouldn't watch YouTubers reporting on drama, especially if it's current.

(just found out you can post without a title but I won't do that)

Well, people are being cyberbullied and doxxed for playing the new AAA game [Beat to My Tune]. My opinion? Don't doxx people. Sure, not playing the game whose funds go to an actively transphobic creator is the smallest thing you can do, but people are heated right now. Heated.

Some are saying that it's solely trolls of transgender people doing this and the next day they're gonna pat Silvervale's shoulders and seek revenge on whoever did it. Some are saying that it's solely haters of Silvervale doing this because they're so mad at what she played that she deserves punishment. Some are saying it's a mix of the two, that it's the toxic users of both groups doing this. And some are saying the doxxing didn't happen at all and Silver is lying for views. I say that I'm not looking up anyone's dox info for any reason, so whether it's fake or not, does it really matter, especially above trans lives?

The people seem to be fine, though. Most are just ignoring the hate, or don't know it's happening, like several JP Hololive talents.

Some users are playing the game out of spite. Most notably, Pipkin Pippa.

I censor the game but if you look at the release date of this blog and what VTubers are being grouped together, you damn well know what it is.

One, Silvervale, cried on stream about it and called people "Twitter freaks" and "roaches" for insulting her. This was so huge that it actually went mainstream, because, you know, she LITERALLY CRIED ON STREAM, the lowest of the low! Also people wanted to make fun of VTubers and how silly they are.

One, Amano Pikamee, who tried to play the game but didn't and apologized, has announced her graduation, a Japanese idol culture term for quitting. But it's not because of cyberbullying, at least not mainly, she's quitting because she doesn't find streaming fun anymore (for an unspecified reason but it could be anything). Cyberbullying may or may not be a factor but there is proof that she thought about quitting before the [Beat to My Tune] stream announcement, like telling Pomu Rainpuff and Kson.

People are saying "oh, she planned it months in advance, she wanted to fake announce playing the game for a PR stunt so she can make up an excuse for quitting", okay but why though? It seems convoluted, especially since GYARI confirmed that this graduation was planned months in advance.

Why is Pikamee a bigger deal than Silvervale? Because Pikamee's graduation is a big deal. She is one of the most famous VTubers around, and now transphobic loli neonazis are using her graduation is part of their hate campaign! Gross!

But for some reason I feel empathy for these streamers... like, not for what they did, I'm not gonna feel bad for someone playing a game or eating waffle fries, but... getting hate sucks. Makes your inner kuroneko mode want to rage out of its shell.

"What are you talking about?"

Also, this controversy has given us the biggest ratio I've ever seen!
Tweet: "Have you smelled a trans 'woman' before? Like a dead rat."

Tweet: "You sniff random trans people in public?"
That's a 3:20000 ratio!

Other weird takes

  • Someone drew Pikamee burning a trans flag and they said that they were "part of the solution" of avenging Pikamee.
  • Someone drew Pikamee as part of the school of the game, and someone else directly compared it to drawing art of a trans person offing themselves. Hopefully a troll.
  • The whole AliArcher situation? She faked her cousin's death to shame Silvervale supporters.
  • Before the game came out, Ironmouse made a weed pun about the game, something like "Can't wait to play Ding to My Tune" and people got really mad, though Ironmouse stated that she was not gonna play the game, she just wanted to make the joke. Basically just people being concerned.
  • Seems unrelated at first, but it is, a VTuber named Fallen Shadow posted a post of her model (a "loli" type model) under the tag #booba, and said something like "I know you can't resist my massive boobs, I'm so tired of being objectified 😒" and people just hated on her, and did some joking around and stuff. Fallen Shadow made a response calling them "transgender 12-year-olds with pronouns in their bio" which... yeah that's why it's related to [BTMT].
