(NOT SPOILER-FREE) Ghostbusters: Afterlife Review

So today was the first time I hung out with a friend outside of school for the first time, lame, I know. We went to the movies. Of course, I dropped my popcorn on the ground, scooped it up, ate it, and had to deal with a kid kicking my chair and talking during the whole film but I had a fun experience.

So, you can guess what I just did... That's right, I watched Ghostbusters: Afterlife on opening weekend!

So the movie is about this family moving to this house that belonged to the mom's dad and everyone in the town thinks he's crazy. The mom's kids, Trevor and Phoebe, are trying to live their lives until Phoebe finds her grandfather's lab, and finds out her grandfather was... a Ghostbuster!

And yeah, there's some mini marshmallow men and a Terror Dog eating Purina, and the gates of Hell are opening up but nah, it's just a charming family film for all, nothing scary here!

I loved the characters. They were cool. Mostly for reliability, Phoebe was my favorite character in the movie, and Podcast and Mr. Grooberson were pretty funny as well. I loved how you can tell that these characters were themselves and not just blank slates or carbon copies of the original.
Well, except for one... I'm surprised that Lucky didn't do much in the movie. She barely even did any action, she turns into a terror dog in the final battle!

The story was pretty good as well, but I don't have much to say about it, I'm not an all-knowing story genius yet, all I got stuck in my head is the Hero's Journey and the Story Circle.

I might rewrite this if I find a flaw in someone's review and I'm like "ohhhh I remember not liking that" but the only flaw I found was that they were talking about Rainbow Dash finding her voice in the 46th episode of MLP and I'm like "oh ok let's search that up" and the 46th episode is the one where Twilight Sparkle time travels... I'm gonna regret saying this because I haven't watched this episode in years but how much did Rainbow Dash attribute to that episode?

Also, I like how the jokes and how they play a part in the story like "Why can't you trust atoms? Because they make everything up". If Phoebe's grandad heard that, he would probably say "that's not me I'm not atoms".

The Mini Pufts surprisingly didn't make as many appearances as the trailer implied. I think they appeared in two scenes. For all that's worth, like the Mini Puft NFTs and the blind bags and everything, it's surprising and not surprising at the same time. I'm not disappointed like I am with Lucky's minor appearances, it's actually fine.

Favorite parts:
  • The scary parts
  • Gozer ripping a guy's body apart
  • When Mr. Gooberson threw ice cream at the terror dog
  • "I think Mr. Gooberson is trying to bone your mom"
  • The scene where Phoebe calls Ray
  • The loud parts
  • Mr. Gooberson gives Callie a flower, she eats it, and then they make out
  • The very end
Okay, bye.

Another idea for Precure series... again!

My 22 are series based on the following themes, separated by commas: emojis, music/travel, space, ghosts, healing, healing/princesses, friendship, dreams, next-generation/metal, rainbow, cars, gemstones, time travel, goddesses, dragons, seasons, digital evolution, wonderland, mermaids, candy, snow, and baking/robots. See something missing? No witches. Mahou Tsukai doesn't exist in my Precure universe. The closest thing is their appearance in that one fanmade All Stars movie I had written. But because of their disappearance from the main series timeline, there is a Harry Potter-shaped void in my Euphoria Timeline series. So I think my final series to fit the puzzle will be a painting/witch series. Might call it Arc-en-Ciel Pretty Cure.
The series will be a quintet whose formation doesn't change. Pink, yellow, green, blue, purple. The leader's name is Koine Kozakura, or Cure Jolie. If I change my mind about there being a sixth ranger, it might be white Cure named Cure Nimbus.

Here are the other series ideas I made randomly as a masterlist:

Three things

 Thing 1

I made two new series!! Seabreeze Pretty Cure and Fleurir❁Pretty Cure!

Seabreeze I made up because of last night's dream. This is the second time I'm making a Precure series based on my dream after Prism Roses.

Fleurir was originally gonna be Floret Pretty Cure, but I saw an abandoned Cure named Cure Fleurir so I just named my series that.

Thing 2

A certain Fandom of Pretty Cure user is making a lot of series recently, but there was one that got me mad, that grinded my gears.

Ocean Beach ⛭ Pretty Cure.

This is because even if it says it's inspired by Tropical-Rouge, I believe it isn't. I believe this is not only based on my own series, Seashore Pretty Cure, but ripped off! Here.

They have huge similarities, off the back.
  • The colors are exactly the same and in the same order.
  • Cure Tidal and Cure Undersea, Queen of Seashell Island, are obvious knockoffs of Cure Tide and Cure Starfish, Queen of Atlantis.
  • The names are extremely similar. Eleanor and Ellen, Dalisay and Dalia, and Kairi and Kari. Even Amour and Nono have their roots tied to HUGtto!.
  • Nono and Ellen are sisters, just like Amour and Eleanor are.
  • Not sure how intentional this is but Cure Coral and Cure Flamingo both purposely share the Cure name of a Tropical-Rouge! Cure.
  • She did the Pretty Cure of Ocean _____ thing that I did. This wouldn't be a problem out of context tbh but this is still contributing to the knockoffery.
I know this will do nothing, I just wanted to vent. This wasn't even the first time my series has been ripped off by people like these. I'm gonna call her out publically one day.

Thing 3

Another series based on some random Cure's name? A Cure made by the person who ripped me off? Oh boy...

Rondo Pretty Cure. Sound like a cute name?

Haha lmao

First off, Delicious Party <3 Pretty Cure got trademarked, "omedeto", whatever, glad to be you.

But second off, I was working on Go On! Pretty Cure!, and I noticed something really funny.

If it were acronymed, it would be GOPC. GOP.

Is that why I hated on Let's Get Back! Tropical-Rouge! Pretty Cure? Because that stands for "LGBTPC".

Bad joke, moving on.

Debate!

iDOLM@STER: Shiny Colors was animated in Live2D, so I'm here to say that that series might have the best 2D puppet animation of anything ever. Fight me.

(actually, I'm kinda scared because there's probably tons of Flash and Toon Boom puppet animation that's leagues better that I forgot even existed?)

If I had 10,000 dollars...

I would probably conduct a SynthV chorus where I made all the women sing whatever I want. And I would also buy music production material an...
